Urban Initiatives Group provides a comprehensive approach to the responsible redevelopment of distressed urban neighborhoods through integrating:
o Urban planning principles
o Financial feasibility and assistance
o Project management
Urban Planning - Understanding the form and function of cities is the core of urban planning. Our approach is to establish a diverse multidisciplinary team of planners, urban designers, market researchers, architects and urban economic development professionals to tackle challenges in communities of all sizes and complexities. The team’s collective knowledge integrates the physical design elements with a comprehensive community development initiative and public policies to produce effective urban development solutions.
Corridor Planning - Urban Core corridors represent both physical and economic development opportunities for urban core redevelopment areas for Cities. Corridor planning includes the redevelopment and re-use of existing and often properties due to economic obsolescence or blight.
Redevelopment Consulting - From providing technical assistance to business, government and nonprofit organizations to working with investors in promoting sustainable economic development, Urban Initiatives Group provides comprehensive community initiative and urban planning framework to assist in formulating land use and economic development strategies that best suit their communities.
Historic renovation - The preservation of historic buildings and places and sustaining America’s historic areas is of utmost importance. The architectural styles of structures in such neighborhoods tangibly represent our past; they are a cultural legacy held in trust for the public by their owners. The preservation of buildings in historic and otherwise culturally significant neighborhoods is important because they are virtually irreplaceable. As these structures continue to deteriorate, renovation is frequently the most economical answer.
Management Assistance - Our specialty includes Board Development and Training, Education Management assistance to start-up organizations in the areas of accounting and general office management (HR, payroll, employee benefits, ADA, etc.).
